Mouth Watering Pork Roast at Home

People who are weight conscious may not be able to enjoy the pork roast as much as they should, but it can definitely give a pleasant dining experience once in a while. Still, not many of us decide to cook pork roast for dinner because there is just too much meat – therefore, it can be an extremely big waste if the cooking is not done right. However, one does not have to be scared to try out a pork roast recipe because it is pretty simple to do and you just have to let your oven do the rest of the job.

As mentioned, the pork roast will have to be done in the oven, so make sure that your large round piece of meat will be able to fit in. If your pork roast can fit your barbecue grill, it will even be so much better since you will be able to brown it and give it a more delicious look.

If you are able to fit your pork roast into the barbecue grill, sprinkle some salt and pepper on it first before you decide to brown it. However, if it does not or if you do not have any, you can always skip the first part of the process.

The next thing you need to do in making pork roast is to place it in the oven. You can always go by the traditional recipe by adding salt and pepper only. However, you can also add a few more flavors by adding oil, some dried spices like rosemary or thyme plus some salt and ground black pepper. Rub the mixture into your roast – make sure to do it on all sides. When you place it in the pan, make sure that the fat side stays at the top, facing up.

Now, you can place your roast in a preheated oven at 450 degrees. Some would also decide to go 500 for a raw roast while they can go low to 375 if the roast had already been browned in the barbecue grill. You can reset the temperature to around 250 if it has been there for ten minutes.

To make sure that the meat is done right, a meat thermometer is used to determine the temperature at the most inner part of the loin. Usually, a temperature of 150 degrees should be the determining factor whether you still have to continue cooking it or not.

Before you get all too excited about preparing your pork roast for dinner, let the meat stand first for around 15 minutes. Then, you can already slice it up and prepare it the way you want it. You can place it on a big platter and have a few slices. Then, you can also add your favorite sauce into the pork roast and decorate it using some herbs. Now, you, your family and your guests are ready to enjoy your mouth watering homemade pork roast.
